Kroenke blasts STL in bid for LA move

Posted online
The St. Louis region is losing population and cannot sustain three professional sports teams, St. Louis Rams owner Stan Kroenke said in his 29-page proposal to move the franchise to Los Angeles.

The application, which was released by the Rams, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, also said any NFL club that would move to St. Louis under an area proposal to construct a $1.1 billion riverfront stadium “will be well on the way to financial ruin, and the league would be harmed.”

Kroenke is proposing to build a $1.9 billion stadium in Inglewood, Calif., that could support two NFL teams, which he said gives the league the best economic opportunity in Los Angeles.

The Rams are among three NFL clubs vying to move to Los Angeles. The other two are the Oakland Raiders and the San Diego Chargers.
