Project description: Almost two years after opening a south-side store, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts is ready to take on north Springfield. “We felt that the north side is a market we haven’t been able to tap into,” said Springfield operations manager Mike Parker. “There is a lot going on.” Parker, a Central High School alumnus, steered the company to this site, he said. Though it will be about half the size of its south-Springfield counterpart, the new store will have a 24-hour drive-through window and employ about 50.
