Kraft Heinz cuts 200 white-collar jobs

Kraft Heinz late last week laid off 200 salaried white-collar workers in the United States and Canada.

Affecting less than 1 percent of the company's workforce, the layoffs will help Kraft Heinz "reinvest in our brands and our business in ways that benefit our consumers," spokesman Michael Mullen said.

The layoffs come a month after Kraft Heinz ditched its $143 billion bid to buy Anglo-Dutch consumer-products company Unilever.
