Kraft Foods recalls cottage cheese

Kraft Foods issued a recall Saturday for select varieties of cottage cheese that could spoil prematurely and possibly cause illness.

Knudsen Cottage Cheese, Breakstone's Cottage Cheese, Simply Kraft Cottage Cheese and Daily Chef Cottage Cheese are included in the recall. Code dates are May 9-July 23, according to United Press International

"Some ingredients used in these products were not stored in accordance with Kraft's temperature standards," a release from the company said. "While unlikely, this could create conditions that could lead to premature spoilage and/or food borne illness; therefore, the company is issuing the recall as a precaution."
