Posted online
Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster has filed suit against a Pennsylvania-based telemarketer for alleged violations of the state's no-call law.

The suit claims Leading Apex LLC, and its manager Brian Ofner, has committed more than 480 violations since May 2012, according to a news release.

A home security system marketer, Leading Apex also contracts with businesses to provides telemarketing services. Koster alleges the company caused calls to be made to Missouri consumers who are not legally eligible for telemarketing solicitations over the phone.

“Missourians add their numbers to the no-call list to avoid unwanted sales calls from telemarketers,” Koster said in the release. “My office will continue to aggressively pursue companies that violate this protection for Missouri consumers.”

Through the suit, Koster is seeking financial penalties against Leading Apex, as well as reimbursement for the state's investigation and prosecution costs.
