Koster denies favors for lobbyists in testimony

Posted online
Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster on Monday denied that members of his office practiced favoritism for companies that contributed to his political efforts.

He testified before an investigative committee set up after a New York Times article claimed Koster shut down an investigation of 5-Hour Energy after a lobbyist reached out to him.

According to a Dec. 8 Times article, the attorney general denied allegations that 5-Hour Energy and Pfizer had contributed to attorney general associations nationwide or to his own political efforts.

“Let me be clear,” he said. “They were not.”
