Following a St. Louis Circuit Court ruling Wednesday that overturned Missouri’s constitutional ban of same-sex marriage, Attorney General Chris Koster has appealed the decision.
According to the St. Louis Business Journal, Koster said the constitutional challenge should be resolved by the Missouri Supreme Court.
Judge Rex Burlison's ruling held that the state’s gay marriage ban is "in violation of the Equal Protection Clause and Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution."
