Kohl's has fired CEO Ashley Buchanan, who held the job for less than five months.
Company officials said Buchanan's firing was "for cause" and that he "violated company policies by directing the company to engage in vendor transactions that involved undisclosed conflicts of interest."
Kohl’s board Chair Michael Bender is stepping in as interim CEO.
