Kohl’s cutting retail floor space

Department store chain Kohl's plans to reduce the floor space at about half of its stores.

The plan involves shifting some products into backroom space, a move the company says is cheaper because it's easier to maintain.

A spokeswoman said there will be no layoffs or the removal of square footage as part of the plan.
