Knicks owner sued for excessive pay

The owner of the NBA's New York Knicks is facing a lawsuit filed on behalf of the Madison Square Garden Co.

James Dolan, who owns the Knicks and Madison Square Garden property, is accused of being overpaid and spending too much time touring with his band instead of working on his businesses.

According to the suit, Dolan earned $75.6 million over the past three years, compared with an average of $17 million for his peers.

The suit also alleges Dolan spent too much time with his band, JD & the Straight Shot, which performed 50 times across six countries in 2017.
