KMOV apologizes after anchor uses ‘colored’ in story about minority homeowners

St. Louis TV station KMOV has apologized after an anchor used the word "colored" in a story about minority homeowners.

“Tonight, ‘colored’ homeowners are sounding the alarm when it comes to undervalued home appraisals,” evening anchor Cory Stark said on air.

JD Sosnoff, KMOV’s vice president and general manager, said, "It was in an original script as ‘homeowners of color’ and was inadvertently changed and mistakenly read on air."
