It isn't the sort of thing I usually like to do. Truth be told, an afternoon spent judging posters and/or poetry created by third graders would normally rate a 1 on a 1-to-10 scale of things I like to do, about the same ranking as watching daytime TV. I'm here to tell you, judging the entries of these kids beats the fire out of watching the likes of Rosie O'Donnell.
You may be asking why I was there. The materials we were judging were part of a program called Kids-U-Cation: Creativity, Conservation and Science, an interactive learning program for children, sponsored by Silver Dollar City and Bass Pro Shops to benefit the Writers Hall of Fame scholarship program.
