Kickstarter passes $1B in pledges

Crowdfunding website Kickstarter.com announced Monday it passed the $1 billion mark in pledges.

In total, the company says 5.7 million people have pledged money to projects posted on the site.

More than $500 million was pledged during the past 12 months, according to Fox News.
