NFL Referee Larry Nemmers, left, was the speaker at the Missouri State University Management Development Institute’s Breakfast With Champions. MDI is a program of the College of Business Administration, and COBA Dean Ron Bottin, right, introduced Nemmers.

Nemmers, who spoke about his experiences as both an NFL ref and a high school principal in Elgin, Ill., emphasized the importance of a positive attitude to being successful in business and in life. “We get to choose the attitude that we wake up with and bring to work,” he told the University Plaza crowd.

A 22-year NFL officiating veteran, Nemmers has worked in two Super Bowls. The ring on the right was for 20 years of NFL service.

“It’s just like any job, you’ve got to work your way up,” Nemmers said of officiating at the professional level.[[In-content Ad]]
