An ad on KFC Germany's app invited customers to enjoy “tender cheese with crispy chicken" to mark the "Anniversary of the Reich’s pogrom night."
Kristallnacht is widely commemorated as the start of the Holocaust.
KFC Germany officials said the company has a "semiautomated content creation process linked to calendars that include national observances.”
