The U.S. Senate on Thursday voted 53-47 to confirm Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court.
Jackson, who is slated to be sworn in this summer, will be the first Black woman to serve on the nation's high court. She'll be the 116th Supreme Court justice.
Jackson, 51, previously served eight years as a federal trial court judge. Last year, she was confirmed for a seat on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia.
