Kentucky lawmakers vote against Anheuser-Busch in distributorship battle

Kentucky's House of Representatives voted Tuesday to ban breweries from distributing their own products, the latest blow to Anheuser-Busch's quest to purchase additional distributorships in the state.

According to reporting by The Associated Press, the measure would force A-B to sell the two state distributors it owns and ban the practice in the future.

Some Kentucky lawmakers are opposed.

"It sends a bad message to businesses that want to invest in this state," Republican state Rep. Adam Koening said. "Taking away someone's business such as this is really not our role as a legislature and is just not right."
