Gov. Mike Kehoe has appointed three locals to a pair of state boards and a commission.
Roye Cole, Jeremy Manley and Dr. Michael Pfander were among a list of individuals statewide selected by the governor for various state roles, according to news releases from Kehoe's office.
Cole, of Rogersville, was appointed to the Missouri Sentencing Advisory Commission. The 11-member board is designed to oversee fairness and effectiveness in criminal sentencing, among other initiatives, according to Courts.mo.gov.
Cole has served as Webster County sheriff since 2008 and has been a police officer since 2003. His experience includes work for the state of Missouri and Drury University.
Manley, of Springfield, was appointed to the State Board of Mediation, a five-member quasi-judicial board that administers the Public Sector Labor Law.
Manley is the president and business representative of Teamsters Local 245 and previously served as the Democrat, Republican, Independent Voter Education representative for the International Brotherhood of Teamsters in Washington, D.C.
Pfander, of Clever, was reappointed to the Missouri Veterinary Medical Board. The board, which has five appointed members, oversees the licensing of veterinarians in Missouri.
Pfander is a veterinarian at Cottage Veterinary Hospital in Springfield, and he's been on the Missouri Veterinary Medical Board since 2012.
