Kansas City voters on Tuesday rejected a name change for an iconic 10-mile thoroughfare to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
The thoroughfare has held the name for nine months after City Council decided to rename The Paseo in January.
Save The Paseo is a grassroots group that pushed for restoration of the boulevard’s original name. Officials argued The Paseo is significant to Kansas City's history.
