KC TIF Commission audit reveals $18M in errors

A BKD LLP audit of Kansas City's Tax Increment Financing Commission revealed errant bookkeeping and a glaring departure from an established check-signature policy.

The audit identified a need for $18 million in adjustments, according to the Kansas City Business Journal.

The TIF Commission pays the Economic Development Corp. of Kansas City about $3 million a year to provide accounting and other services.
