KC signs 'smart city' deal with Cisco, Sprint

Kansas City officials yesterday signed a "smart city" agreement with Cisco Systems Inc. and Sprint Corp., according to the Kansas City Business Journal.

The $15 million plan would upgrade infrastructure and promote technology innovation in the city's downtown area.

Plans include construction of a public Wi-Fi network in downtown, as well as a network of digital kiosks.
