A Kansas City pharmacist was sentenced this week for a $9.5 million Medicaid billing scheme.
Steven Baraban, who led Stark Pharmacy inside Research Medical Center, was ordered to pay $125,000 in restitution. He also was sentenced to three years of probation.
He previously agreed to pay $2.2 million in a whistleblower lawsuit brought on by a pharmacist that worked with him in 2015.
Baraban pleaded guilty to billing Medicaid for pain creams that were not provided to patients.
