KC officials: $1B has gone downtown since streetcar approved

Kansas City officials said more than $1 billion has been invested in its downtown area since December 2012.

That's the same year the 2.2-mile streetcar district was approved, according to the Kansas City Business Journal.

"I'm not saying that that $1 billion is directly tied to the streetcar," said John Pajor, manager of the Kansas City's Business Customer Service Center. "I'm just saying that we have seen over $1 billion in investment in the downtown area since the project was announced."
