The city of Kansas City has contracted with Springfield-based certified public accounting firm BKD LLP to determine what entity should provide accounting and financial reporting for the Tax Increment Financing Commission of Kansas City.
BKD will be paid $180,000 for its evaluation, which is expected to be completed by the end of the year, according to the Kansas City Business Journal.
The TIF Commission is considered one of the city's most active development incentive-granting agencies. It has been paying Economic Development Corp. of Kansas City $3 million a year to provide accounting, financial reporting and other services.
