Kansas City has received a $20,000 grant to promote economic mobility ahead of the World Cup next year.
The grant from the National League of Cities is expected to promote industries including outdoor dining, liquor licensing, short-term rentals and restaurants.
The funding will be managed through the city's KC BizCare, a resource and information center for businesses.
