Kansas City-based MightyGood co-founder and CEO Ben Rendo expects the company to end 2020 with $50 million in revenue, up from $1 million last year.
Rendo said the momentous revenue shift started when the company began giving back amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The consumer packaged goods company during the pandemic began producing face shields and donated 15,000 to area hospitals and Mercy Hospital Northwest Arkansas. A Sam's Club buyer heard about the donations and asked the company to manufacture three-ply face masks for the national retailer.
Rendo, who is predicting $100 million in revenue next year, envisions a transition for MightyGood where it would split into two companies. One would focus on health and wellness and the other on plastic products.
