KC-based auto hauler plans to lay off 95

Jack Cooper Transport Co. Inc. may lay off up to 95 employees in Clay County, according to a recent Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act notice filed with the state of Missouri.

The Kansas City Business Journal reports the layoffs at the company's Claycomo location would take effect May 1.

The over-the-road transporter of light vehicles declined to comment.
