Starbucks workers at a store in the Kansas City area went on strike this week.
The employees at a cafe in Independence are protesting the company's threat to withhold travel benefits for abortion and gender-affirming care to unionizing stores in states where that health care is banned, according to KCUR.
The store was the first in Missouri to unionize.
