KC-area public company cuts 16% of corporate staff

Overland Park, Kansas-based Compass Minerals International Inc. (NYSE: CMP) has conducted layoffs.

The company cut roughly 16% of its corporate workforce.

Officials said the layoffs were part of “initial steps” to align its cost structure with business needs, according to the Kansas City Business Journal.
