Leadership Success

Success started for me by working at every position within the bank, from the ground up, alongside my team, always using a hands-on approach. I’ve experienced the difference between having a boss and a leader, and my goal is to be a leader. Whether it’s handling small or large tasks you must fully commit to every responsibility.
When my banking career began in 2003, upper management was comprised of mostly men. I had to earn my place. I took on every opportunity offered. I joined Branson Bank in 2017 and continued to work to prove my capability, earning my current position within the bank.
You should never take your seat at the table for granted, continue to be fully committed in all you do.

Overcomer Moments

I understand the challenges of generational poverty as a farm kid with no college fund. I knew that achieving my goals would require hard work and resilience. I graduated from College of the Ozarks, earning my degree and a work ethic that has shaped my career and taught me how to overcome.
COVID-19 transformed the landscape of every business, including banking. We navigated a core system conversion and the complexities of SBA PPP loans during this time as well. Communication and collaboration were tested, and silos formed. Reunifying the team was challenging, but I approached it progressively starting with one-on-one, then small groups, and eventually bank wide. Since that time, our associates have become a single unified team.

Inspiring a Team

I encourage my team to stay open-minded and continually evaluate, “Is there a better way?” We foster a collaborative culture, offer support and share insights on refining our operations. Our associates have responded to the challenge, and it is great to see them become critical thinkers.

Leadership Legacy

I owe much of my professional growth to my mentor and dear friend, Karen Hall, a local banking matriarch. When she walked into my office and invited me to lunch twenty years ago, it changed my life. Her first piece of advice, “Never question if you can, just do.”
I believe in serving one’s community. I sit on the board of the Branson Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce, where work focuses on strengthening the Branson economy and enhancing our community.
I take great pride in my family, my children, my bank colleagues, and the work I do. Leading by example creates lasting impact. I’m a firm believer that with hard work and strong ethics, one can reach any destination they envision.
