Republican strategist Karl Rove said Thursday the tea party element has put the GOP in a “state of flux,” but it is on its way to being worked out, according to Politco.
“The Republican coalition is in a state of flux,” Rove said during a panel at The Atlantic’s Washington Ideas Forum, when asked to assess the current situation of his party. “Now it’s starting to sort out, and I think, frankly, we are past the point of greatest warfare.”
The former adviser to President George W. Bush said much of the reason the Republican Party has suffered can be linked to a changing electorate. When asked about his party's chances, he said New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie could stand a chance in 2016.
