BBC News reports the owner of a pizza restaurant made money buying his own products through the DoorDash delivery app.
AJ’s NY Pizzeria, which has locations in Manhattan and Topeka, Kansas, was placed on the DoorDash app without the restaurant owner's permission, according to a blog post by his friend, content strategist Ranjan Roy.
In his blog post, "DoorDash and Pizza Arbitrage," Roy said the restaurant owner bought his own pizzas at a discounted rate listed on DoorDash.
Making profits on the difference, the restaurant even went so far as to refrain from putting toppings on the pizza to increase the revenue gained, Roy said. The two wondered whether DoorDash would notice, but it did not, the blog post indicates.
