A biotechnology research organization unveiled plans for a $650 million plant in Kansas.
Scorpion Biological Services, a subsidiary of biopharmaceutical company Heat Biologics Inc., is planning a 500,000-square-foot plant in Pottawatomie County, Kansas, near Manhattan.
The investment includes the installation of 48 bioreactors and the creation of more than 500 jobs.
