A Kansas construction veteran purchased Builder’s Rebar of Strafford Inc. through a trustee’s sale held yesterday on the Greene County Courthouse steps.
Tim Sinclair, who owns Pal's Glass Service Inc. and Sinclair Masonry Inc. in Wichita, Kan., bought the 3.4-acre property via Topeka, Kan.-based Kaw Valley Bank for $825,000, according to a filing with the Greene County recorder.
Blue Springs-based Comprehensive Banking Services LLC called due a $4.2 million loan for the property taken out by Builder’s Rebar, 5841 E. State Highway OO.
Sinclair said he would keep on the facility’s 14 employees and change the name to Builder’s Rebar LLC. The producer of fabricated rebar is managed by Mark Chesnut. He is taking over for Dan Feldt, who plans to retire in March, Sinclair said.
Previous owner Doug Hutchinson ran into problems that led to the trustee’s sale, Sinclair said.
“I’ve been in construction my whole life and an acquaintance of the previous owner. He got in huge financial trouble through the recession,” he said.
