Kansas City Public Schools to close three schools

After three hours of public comment and debate, the Kansas City Public Schools Board of Education voted Wednesday to close three schools.

The closures will be Southwest Early College Campus, Satchel Paige Elementary and Wendell Phillips Elementary.

The actions are part of a larger master plan to redraw the school district's boundaries in a move to save $8 million annually.
