Kansas City Power & Light this week opened a new solar plant in Greenwood, 30 miles south of Kansas City.
The utility company's first commercial-scale solar power plant is expected to generate 4,700 megawatt-hours of energy a year. That's enough to power 440 homes.
Built on 12 acres, the facility has 11,500 solar panels.
Springfield event venue Belamour LLC gained new ownership; The Wok on West Bypass opened; and Hawk Barber & Shop closed on a business purchase that expanded its footprint to Ozark.
