Topeka, Kan.-based Kaw Valley Bank yesterday purchased a 3.4-acre property in Strafford in a trustee’s sale on the Greene County Courthouse steps.
The property has housed Builder’s Rebar of Strafford Inc. Dan Feldt, general manager of the rebar fabrication facility at 5841 E. State Highway OO, did not respond to multiple calls by deadline.
A filing with the Greene County recorder indicates Blue Springs-based Comprehensive Banking Services LLC called due a $4.2 million loan for the property taken out by Builder’s Rebar.
The property sold for $825,000, according to the filing.
Christine Schlomann, an attorney with Kansas City-based Armstrong Teasdale LLP who was listed as the successor trustee, could not be reached for comment. A spokesperson for Kaw Valley Bank also could not be reached this morning.
According to the Missouri secretary of state’s website, Builder’s Rebar of Strafford Inc. is in good standing. It was registered in 1996.
