The Roy Blunt Jordan Valley Innovation Center at Missouri State University is investing in four companies through the third round of funding of an initiative designed to grow the state's semiconductor industry.
JVIC's Advanced Manufacturing Node is awarding nearly $4 million to the companies, according to a news release. JVIC in 2022 was approved by NextFlex, a member of Manufacturing USA innovation institutes, as the Missouri node of a program designed to increase the volume, pace and coordination of the development of flexible hybrid electronics and other semiconductor technologies.
Brewer Science Inc., GVD Corp. and SRC Technologies Group Inc. were selected for $1 million apiece, while CeraNova Corp. was approved for a $999,705 funding award.
“These projects represent another step forward in strengthening and expanding Missouri’s manufacturing capabilities and advancing the semiconductor industry,” said Allen Kunkel, associate vice president for economic development and director of JVIC at MSU, in the release. “By supporting these innovative ventures, we are supporting an ecosystem for growth in the semiconductor industry and creating new opportunities for the state.”
JVIC opened the $4 million funding round in September, according to past reporting.
