Jury sides with Google in $8.8B Oracle suit

A jury sided with Google in an $8.8 billion copyright case brought by Oracle.

The jury ruled Google's use of Oracle's application program interfaces was fair use.

Oracle plans to appeal the ruling.

The case focused on whether Google legally used 37 APIs in its Android operating system in 2009. APIs help different kinds of software interact.
