A jury ruled against Monsanto in a more than $2 billion verdict.
The case was in favor of a California couple who claimed Monsanto's Roundup weed killer caused their cancer.
The verdict includes $55 million in compensatory damages to the couple. Another $2 billion is punitive damages.
"Bayer is disappointed with the jury's decision and will appeal the verdict in this case," officials with Monsanto's parent company said.
