Jury orders Kansas City Life Insurance to pay $28M in damages

A Jackson County jury ordered Kansas City Life Insurance Co. to pay $28.4 million in damages.

The company charged fees in excess of limits outlined in the contracts of owners of universal life insurance products, the jury ruled.

Kansas City Life intends to challenge the jury's ruling.
