After an hour of deliberation, a jury yesterday found Craig Wood guilty of first-degree murder.
According to the Springfield News-Leader, prosecutors will now seek the death penalty for Wood, who in 2014 killed 10-year-old Hailey Owens. of Springfield.
On Feb. 18, 2014, Wood took Owens off the street into his truck before driving her to his home, where he raped and killed her.
