Jury convicts Okla. executive of $1.2M bank fraud

After eight days in trial, a federal jury convicted Norman, Okla., development executive Bruce Wright of conspiracy and 11 counts of bank fraud in an alleged $1.2 million scheme against IBC Bank.

According to Tulsa Business & Legal News, Wright and co-defendant Robert Blaksley, of Owasso, Okla., submitted to the bank fraudulent property development invoices for work allegedly never performed in Bentonville, Ark. Charged on Aug. 13, the co-defendants reportedly engaged in the fraudulent activity June 2007-July 2008, when Wright served as president of Group Blaksley LLC and Blaksley was CEO.

Wright, who is scheduled to be sentenced Sept. 16, faces 30 years in prison and a $1 million fine. Blaksley pleaded guilty May 8.
