Members of the league sat down with more than 50 agency leaders, including members of The Kitchen, Family Violence Center, The Victim Center and the YMCA.
The group determined poverty, substance abuse, lack of supervision by parents and lack of community support as the key problems children face. The league will use the discussion to help prevent child abuse and neglect.
The league also donated more than $29,800 to community volunteer projects, including The Greene County Child Development Adoption Fair, Arc of the Ozarks Summer Camp and Springfield/Greene County Health Nurse Family Partnership.
The league is a Springfield organization of women who volunteer in the community and promote the well-being of children.
