Twenty-eight states and Washington, D.C., registered higher month-to-month unemployment rates in July, including Missouri, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Eight states registered decreased jobless rates last month, while the remaining 14 reported no change, according to a news release.
Faltered by a 100-job month-to-month decrease,
Missouri's unemployment rate rose two-tenths of a point to 7.1 percent in July. The
U.S. jobless rate dropped two-tenths of a point in July, registering at 7.4 percent last month.
In July, Nevada recorded the highest unemployment rate, at 9.5 percent, while the lowest reported 3 percent in North Dakota, according to the release.
