WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange is being questioned by a senior Swedish prosecutor six years after he was accused of rape by a woman in Stockholm.
The case has been stagnant since Assange sought asylum at Ecuador’s embassy in London to avoid extradition to Sweden over the allegation. Assange denies he committed the crime.
Ingrid Isgren, Sweden’s deputy chief prosecutor, arrived at the embassy on Monday. The questioning will be carried out by an Ecuadorean prosecutor, putting questions that have already been submitted by the Swedish prosecution authority on the table.
