St. Louis County Circuit Court Judge Ellen Ribaudo sided with Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt in issuing a temporary restraining order against the county's face mask mandate.
Ribaudo said the decision was based on conflicting rulings by the St. Louis County government. A hearing is scheduled to be held after the temporary restraining order is lifted Aug. 17.
Schmitt's office filed suit shortly after the new mask mandate went into effect.
