Judge rules Trump administration failed to follow order on federal funds

Chief Judge John J. McConnell Jr. of the U.S. District Court in Rhode Island has ruled that the Trump administration must comply with his previous ruling that required the federal government to unfreeze funding on grants and loans.

The latest ruling, following the initial order in late January, comes after Democratic attorneys general filed an emergency motion alleging the temporary restraining order was not being adhered to.

The Trump administration is facing at least two lawsuits related to the funding freeze.
