The wait is over for same-sex couples in Missouri after a St. Louis judge ruled the state's gay marriage ban is unconstitutional.
NBC News reports the case was brought by the state against a St. Louis registrar after she issued licenses to gay couples in June. Attorney General Chris Koster already has appealed the decision to the state Supreme Court.
If the judge’s decision stands, Missouri would become the 33rd state, plus the District of Columbia, to allow gay nuptials.
