Judge dumps Democratic bid to oust Missouri lieutenant governor

Cole County Circuit Judge Jon Beetem threw out a Democratic challenge to Gov. Mike Parson’s appointment of a new lieutenant governor.

The decision on Wednesday means Senate Majority Floor Leader Mike Kehoe can stay in his new job.

“Under Missouri law, a private plaintiff lacks authority to seek the removal of a public official through litigation,” Beetem wrote.
